Join us for our latest installment of our popular Reel To Reel Film Series for a compelling performance documentary about Hip-Hop. Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap is not a story of bling and stardom, but a journey through the craft and skill of the genre. The film, narrated by Ice-T, features interviews with legends like Ice Cube, Run-DMC, Snoop Dogg, Chuck D and Eminem, with original rapping from some of the creators. Join us in a screening of The Art of Rap, followed by a panel discussion with executive producer Jorge Hinojosa and Dr. Gaye Theresa Johnson, Associate Professor of Black Studies at the University of California Santa Barbara. The event will be moderated by esteemed rap journalist and industry insider Soren Baker.
