Join us in welcoming celebrated singer, songwriter and actress Lila Downs to the Clive Davis Theater. Downs, the daughter of a Mixtec Indian and a Scottish-American professor, has been at the forefront of Mesoamerican music for almost two decades. Her unique world view and inspiring musical palette has won her a Latin GRAMMY, a #1 spot on the Mexican sales charts with her latest album Pecados y Milagros, and the United States Artists Fellowship. In addition to her musical pursuits, Downs played a role in the Salma Hayek film Frida and has contributed numerous songs to film soundtracks. Downs will be discussing her career and her latest album and will perform a selection of songs.
